This set of templates is for building a workstation using the Rockler Portable Drill Guide or Woodpecker Precision Drill guide. There are two template files included in this set. One for making a 26&#215;24 template for making a Maker Workstation. One for making a 23&#215;23 top plate\/Worx Sidekick template. Routing out the pockets for side plate mounts along the sides of the workstation template requires a 1\/4&#8243; bit and 7\/16&#8243; bushing.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CNC-made templates are required for this project<\/span>. To make them, you need template CAD files, a CNC, or a CNC service. Sorry, printing out paper templates and using a drill will not work for this project. The precision required on this project is too high.<\/p>\n<p>An alternative template set for using a router, 3\/8&#8243; bit and 5\/8&#8243; bushing is also <a href=\"https:\/\/woodworking.digital\/product\/maker-workstation-template-files-router-offset-version\/\">available here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ready-made Maker Workstation templates will be available for purchase as the woodworking.digital store, soon.<\/p>\n<p>You also need a Maker Workstation Layer Guide. It&#8217;s free and the 72&#8243; x 24&#8243; Guide is <a href=\"https:\/\/woodworking.digital\/product\/maker-workstation-24x72-layer-guide\/\">available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These CAD files in DXF format are for making or having someone make physical templates needed for the project with a CNC. This project calls for high precision so laying out and using regular woodworking techniques won&#8217;t work. You need a precision CNC template set to make the Maker Workstation. I suggest you make your template out of 1\/2&#8243; or thicker MDF in order to control the 3\/4&#8243; Forstner drill bit used in this project.<\/p>\n<p>A 1\/4&#8243; \u00a0bit is needed to make the templates. Precision is important when machining. Make sure you measure your bit before machining. Dog hole size is critical. Most .250&#8243; bits are actually .242&#8243;-.245&#8243;.
